Early this month, the ACR met with representatives from 14 patient advocacy organizations in Washington, D.C., to discuss mutual advocacy and legislative objectives. The goal of the meeting was to develop ways in which the organizations could better collaborate to advance shared legislative and regulatory objectives and bring attention and action to issues affecting the rheumatology community. The group identified opportunities to join forces in coordinating grassroots and advocacy activities to improve awareness of issues affecting the rheumatology community. The ACR will continue to identify ways to magnify its advocacy efforts in order to ensure that patients have access to rheumatology care and treatments.
