One of the highlights of the 2012 ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., was the public unveiling of the newly named Rheumatology Research Foundation. Known since its founding in 1985 as the ACR Research and Education Foundation, the organization’s new name was greeted warmly by constituents, who snapped up several promotional giveaways adorned with the new logo and blue-and-gold color scheme.
“Our new name is the first step on a shared journey to a brighter future as we aim to increase our capacity to fund the best and brightest in rheumatology,” said Foundation President David Daikh, MD, PhD. Dr. Daikh added that the Foundation’s new brand identity—two years in the making—strengthens ties with the ACR and the rheumatology community while also paving the way to expand efforts to engage new audiences, such as patients and families.
