The ACR has several opportunities for rheumatologists who must recertify through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
ACR (Re)Certification Information Session, November 12, 8 a.m.–9 a.m., Washington, D.C.: Together with the ABIM, the ACR is pleased to offer a (re)certification information session to help demystify the new policies enacted by the ABIM on January 1, 2006. Join us in Washington, D.C., to gain practical tips on how to navigate the (re)certification process and review educational tools newly created by the ACR and specifically designed for the rheumatologist.
CARE Program: This online program offers 60 clinically relevant, case-based questions presented in a user-friendly format with more than 100 educational links to UpToDate topic reviews, Arthritis & Rheumatism articles, and ACR Web guidelines. AIM RA Practice Improvement Module: This Web-based self-evaluation practice improvement tool will guide an abstractor through medical chart abstraction using a series of questions that are based on quality indicators as approved by the ACR’s Quality Measures Committee. The module allows the abstractor to aggregate de-identified data in report format, which will facilitate the development and tracking of a practice improvement plan. The module offers AMA PRA Category 1 credits and 20 points in the self-evaluation of medical knowledge category of the ABIM’s Maintenance of Certification Program.* Enrollment begins at the annual meeting and the first abstraction period begins March 2007.
*Allocation of MOC points for AIM is pending ABIM review—watch for announcements.
