Ultimately, communication should run both ways. I encourage you to contact me directly with any questions, ideas, or suggestions. You can reach me at [email protected]. The ACR heard from a number of members that we need to better define and communicate the value of rheumatologists to those outside the specialty—both as a means to recruit qualified professionals into the field and as a way to ensure the government and insurers understand the value that a rheumatologist provides. This is an important goal for the College this year.
As a result of the strategic planning session, the College has a renewed sense of focus on the most productive ways to benefit its members and the rheumatology subspecialty. The strategic planning session participants will continue to review the proposed revisions to the strategic plan in the upcoming months, and the changes will be officially adopted at the May ACR Board of Directors meeting. Once finalized, the revised plan will be posted on the ACR Web site and circulated to members. Please take a moment to review the final strategic plan when it is disseminated and consider ways you would like to become involved in the various goals of the College.
