“The present findings confirmed our hypotheses that active tDCS over the left DLPFC, compared with sham, can produce significant changes in the performance of a task that is related to three attentional networks,” write the authors in their discussion. “Specifically, the data show that [active] tDCS, compared with sham, led to increased performance in the orienting and executive attention networks. There was, however, no difference due to tDCS on the alerting attentional network.”
