The Dubois Memorial Lecture at ACR Convergence 2024 on Nov. 16 will be delivered by Candace Feldman, MD, MPH, ScD. Dr. Feldman is a rheumatologist and social epidemiology researcher at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Boston.
Her lecture, Building a More Equitable Future in Lupus Care and Outcomes, will discuss the persistent and profound racial, ethnic and socioeconomic inequities in systemic lupus erythematosus care and outcomes. Multi-level drivers, including structural racism and social determinants of health, will be highlighted. Promising interventions that begin to address these inequities will also be discussed, emphasizing the need for community-engaged research and cross-institutional collaboration to build a more equitable future in lupus care and outcomes.
