Thanks to its active membership and experienced delegation of representatives to the American Medical Association (AMA), the ACR has influence on the direction the AMA and the broader House of Medicine take on key issues. The ACR’s delegation takes part in two AMA House of Delegates (HOD) meetings each year, in June and November, and includes representatives to the Young Physician Section of the AMA HOD.
The ACR’s delegation is interested in meeting ACR members who may be interested in serving as representatives to the Young Physician Section during upcoming House of Delegates meetings. Prospective representatives could potentially join the ACR’s delegation at future meetings of the HOD and attend the Young Physician Section. During these meetings, the ACR’s delegates advance issues and positions important to rheumatology, deliberate issues affecting healthcare and vote on the positions and direction the AMA will take.
Prospective candidates must be:
- Under the age of 40 or within the first eight years of practice after residency and fellowship training programs by the time the position commences;
- A member in good standing with the ACR and the AMA; and
- Willing to work with the ACR delegates and staff and communicate back to the membership and leadership of the ACR.
Members who are interested should email a statement of interest and their CV to [email protected] by Friday, May 9, 2025. Select candidates will be invited to conduct brief virtual interviews with the ACR’s delegation.
