Dr. Miossec was pleased when presented with the Nachman Prize. “The nice thing is,” he says, “it’s sort of a confirmation that what I was doing is now recognized. It is quite clear that I started working alone in the desert on IL-17 almost ten years ago and now it’s very much in fashion. I was particularly happy to receive the prize because my mentor from Dallas, Professor Morris Ziff, had got it before. Reaching that level of recognition was important for me.”
