The ACR is known worldwide for excellence in rheumatology education, and the 2019 ACR/ARP Annual Meeting, Nov. 8–13 in Atlanta, will be no exception. This year, the Annual Meeting will feature innovative session formats and more user friendly, interactive approaches to learning. Here’s a sneak peek at what to expect.
In the Rheum
These are not your old school Annual Meeting lectures. In the Rheum chats are only 30 minutes long and designed to be interactive and engaging. Speakers will explore cutting-edge topics facing rheumatologists today, download the latest research findings and dive into discussion and debate on how to tackle pressing challenges in clinical care.
Daily Digest
Daily Digest sessions will be on held Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 4:30–5 p.m. Each day, these sessions will feature two speakers engaging in an informal, dynamic and lively discussion recapitulating the biggest scientific takeaways from that day’s sessions.
Pediatric Community Lounge
Join the pediatric rheumatology community in the all-new Pediatric Community Lounge. Hang out and network with colleagues in comfortable seats, watch live-streamed scientific sessions, and grab a quick snack or coffee.
All pediatric rheumatology sessions will take place in Room B216/217, making it easy for attendees to access all of the exciting content. Additionally, the lounge will be conveniently located adjacent to the session room and will be open Sunday–Tuesday from 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Check it out!
RheumConnect
With RheumConnect, attendees can meet new mentors, expand their professional network and catch up with colleagues. RheumConnect will be located in the Welcome Lobby, Building B, Level 4, and will offer great opportunities for discussion.
During the Meet the Master sessions, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 1–2 p.m., attendees can get up close and personal with the rock stars of rheumatology. Meanwhile, the RheumConnect Board will allow attendees to pick a topic for discussion and meet up with like-minded colleagues.
RheumConnect Hours:
- Sunday–Tuesday: 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; and
- Wednesday: 8 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Interactive Session Room
When attendees step into some of the lecture spaces at the Annual Meeting, arrangements will be different from what they expect and—hopefully—more inviting than the typical conference room: The space will be decked out with comfy armchairs, couches and café tables to perch lattés and/or laptops on.
The space will feature fresh learning formats in a relaxed environment, creating an ideal setting for a truly cool slate of sessions, including the new Recharge Me series, which offers practical tips to energize the spirit and boost wellness. Attendees will be able to interact with fellow professionals about new data from a poster or learn how to wrestle with a new electronic health records system. The space is designed to encourage interactivity and facilitate networking.
Arrive early, and snag the best seat on the couch.
Late-Breaking & Pediatric E-Posters
This year, the late-breaking and pediatric posters have gone digital. Visit the front of the Poster Hall, located in Hall B5, Building B, Level 1, to view the new e-posters.
Poster Hall Hours, Sunday–Tuesday
- Posters on Display: 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Poster Presenters Available: 9–11 a.m.
Wellness Pavilion
Last, but not least, attendees will have a chance to enjoy the ACR’s Wellness Pavilion, located in the Exhibit Hall, where attendees can unwind and relax. Each day, the pavilion will feature massage chairs, the Expressions of Clinician Well-Being Art Gallery, a coloring wall and visits from therapy animals.
