Therefore, she continues, “practices can also begin to implement tactics such as pre-visit planning, team huddles, standing orders, identifying clear staff roles and responsibilities, and care coordination agreements as meaningful steps to improving their own satisfaction and productivity. These activities alone will not address the larger system-wide problems, but can hopefully provide some relief.”
“Additionally,” she says, “as part of our action plan to carry out the recommendations in this paper, ACP asks physicians and their practices to share with us their experiences with administrative burdens and also any best practices for how they have addressed them. The College is collecting these stories and will make them available as part of an administrative burden library on our website and via active outreach over time.”
