Dr. Erica Dommasch from Harvard Medical School’s dermatology department in Boston cautioned that the study cannot tease out a temporal relationship between psoriasis and depression.
“There is evidence that this relationship may be bidirectional, in that depression may increase the risk of psoriasis and psoriasis may increase the risk of depression,” she told Reuters Health by email.

She concluded, “Psoriasis can impact psychological well-being even in mild cases.”
