Looking back, he wishes he had enjoyed the TV experience more, instead of being so competitive and frustrated by bad spins.
“I did pretty good as a 16-year-old nerd,” he says. “Even after all these years, it’s still a fun thing to talk about.”
Looking Forward
If the opportunity ever arises, Dr. Mehta says he’d like to enter the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament directed by The New York Times, the nation’s oldest and largest crossword competition. Although fire truck wouldn’t likely score big points in that competition, the words will always put a smile on his face.

2009–10: Served as attending physician at CHOP; researched the role of prostaglandins in inflammation
2010–15: Served as attending physician and fellowship program director at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, New York
2015: Served as attending physician and clinical director for rheumatology at CHOP
2018: Served as associate program director of the pediatrics residency at CHOP
