Training for Medical Staff
Collecting RA outcome measures accurately and efficiently requires a team-based approach that includes nursing staff and medical assistants. Proper training of staff ensures that surveys are administered accurately and consistently, leading to reliable data collection. Moreover, training can help staff engage patients better, emphasizing the importance of collecting this information. By providing training materials for staff, the toolkit saves time and allows rheumatologists to focus on taking care of patients.
Driving Improvement
The ACR is committed to providing resources for rheumatology practices to drive improved care for patients and their care partners. The toolkit highlights the ACR’s RISE registry as one potential resource to aid in data collection and benchmarking. The toolkit will be updated over time to provide a continuous resource to meet rheumatology needs. It will also serve as a model for future toolkits and implementation guides for ACR quality measures.
“This toolkit provides key support for rheumatology providers,” Dr. Yazdany concludes. “By using the relevant resources in the toolkit, rheumatologists can increase the accuracy, efficiency and usefulness of RA outcome measure collection, with the ultimate goals of improving patient care, succeeding in the Quality Payment Program and sharing high-quality data that advances rheumatology research. This toolkit makes it feasible for practices new to survey data collection to succeed.”
