Welcome back to Washington! The 114th Congress will be underway this month, along with the changing of power and dynamics in our nation’s capital. We welcome new members to Congress, as well as the new leaders and committee chairs in both chambers. We look forward to working closely with these lawmakers to advance rheumatology!
The ACR will be able to meet and build relationships with many of these members through our political action committee, RheumPAC. There are 70 new members of Congress to meet and educate about our specialty. Ninety-three percent of previous RheumPAC candidates in the House and 75% of previous RheumPAC candidates in the Senate will be serving in the new Congress.
Below are additional statistics about the makeup of the 114th Congress. Please also take the opportunity to look up your elected officials and get involved with advocacy at the ACR by visiting www.rheumatology.org/actioncenter.
