On Sunday, Nov. 17, at ACR Convergence 2024, three speakers will deliver a presentation on Rheumatoid Arthritis-Associated Interstitial Lung Disease: Advances in Screening, Diagnosis and Patient Phenotyping. This session will have three 20-minute presentations that cover distinct aspects of RA-associated ILD from early identification of ILD through high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) text mining, to phenotyping patients through biomarker analyses of BAL fluid. The third lecture will cover how capillaroscopy may be used to identify patients with RA at risk for ILD who should be referred for screening.
Scott Matson, MD, University of Kansas, Kansas City, Mo., will discuss molecular phenotypes of RA-ILD, offering an in-depth analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage biomarkers.
Bryant England, MD, PhD, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, will discuss the identification of ILD in RA and the use of text mining of HRCT scans.
Finally, Vanessa Smith, MD, PhD, Ghent University Hospital, Belgium, will answer the question: Can nailfold capillaroscopy improve our ability to identify ILD in patients with associated, underlying rheumatic diseases?
Following the annual meeting, watch this space for details from this important session on rheumatoid arthritis.
